'Chief' is one of our most impressive greens. It carried 17 flowers on its first flowering and multi-spikes. Best of all it is a non-staining green. 'Mill Green' is a full formed flower with high flower count and nice upright foliage. Expect winter flowering, dark greens with red lips and high flower counts.

We have seen enough of the Cym. Death Wish line to know that we are looking for distinctiveness. This cross gives us a bright green base, overlayed with spots and streaks. I am a huge fan of the dramatic red lip from 'Green RL'. Expect spidery, novelty-shaped spotted greens and browns with dramatic lips. Flowering will be early winter. Compact foliage is a feature of this diploid hybrid.

The seedlings from this cross will be outstanding flowers, full shaped dark red flowers with deep red lips. Given the ancestry there will also be some pinks as well. Highly recommended.

Cym. Carmel Split 'Bunellow'

Caramel Split (Cym. Sarah Jean x Cym. Kulnura Sweet) was made by one of our long-time mates, the late Ken Purcell. Ken loved intermediate and miniature Cymbidiums and we are proud to offer plants from his breeding. The clone 'Bunellow' is a full, cup-shaped yellow flower with a light red overlay. It flowers in winter on arching spikes.

Growing Heat Tolerant Cymbidiums

The Cymbidiums and Grammatocymbidium listed below are heat-tolerant and are easy to grow and flower in temperate to tropical climates. These Cymbidiums and Grammatocymbidium enjoy good ventilation and moderate humidity.  It is important that the growing medium is well-drained yet retains some moisture. The root system likes to remain moist with minimal drying in between waterings. Pots should be elevated off the ground to prevent fungal diseases infecting the root system. These Cymbidium and Grammatocymbidium should be grown is a well-ventilated location with 50-60% filtered sunlight. We believe you will find these Cymbidiums and Grammatocymbidium will grow and flower well under tropical conditions.

Its smooth velvety red colouring is set off by the full and balanced deep red lip. It has a great flower count of up to 20 on a spike. Expect full flowers in deep velvety red on strong upright stems from vigorous growing plants. Highly recommended
